The Carbon Business Unit has the main mission in offering integrated solutions in themes related to Carbon Credit Projects, Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventories, Voluntary Emission Reductions Projects and Emissions Compensation by providing the expertise of our team on the following themes:
- Economical and Socio-Environmental Analysis of Projects and Companies
A captious analysis of the social and environmental risks that are akin to an enterprise while suggesting solutions with an approach of the worlds’ best practices (e.g. in accordance with IFC guidelines). The Carbon Business Unit can directly perform beside organizations or as support to Financial Institutes in accordance with the Guidelines of the Principals of Ecuador. Our team possesses expertise and experience in the development of sectorial and corporate studies aside from political and strategic assessment related to climate change.
- Advisory in Carbon Credit Projects
Particular solutions for clients that desire to execute projects in accordance with Clean Development Mechanism – CDM. We strive to execute our consultancy within a wide range of services: design and identification of opportunities, prior analysis of eligibility, financial framework, definition and selection of Technologies, develop the PDD until final registration at UN – UNFCCC. In specific cases our team acts in the creation and approval of new methodologies of the development of CDM projects, accompanying UN – UNFCCC. - Advisory in the Transaction of Carbon Credits
Our team uses all their knowledge of the global market as well as ability in the financial market in order to assist their clients in the carbon credit trading. - Emissions Inventory and Compensation and Neutralization Strategies (Zero Carbon)
Consultancy and validation services as standards like ISO 14064 and GHG protocol used in the identification of emissions and advisory in the determination of compensation and neutralization strategies (GHG neutral companies). We offer advisory services while accounting GHG emissions in short events, specific activities, fairs, seminars and others as well as compensation strategies for these emission. There are projects of emission reduction and/or recovery of GHG – Greenhouse Gases that due to overall reasons do not fall under CDM rules. In these cases our team offers a complete service in the development of the projects in accordance to voluntary standards in order to generate VERs (Verified Emission Reductions) like VCS, Golden Standard, VER+, CCX, CCBS and Plan Vivo among others. - Forestry Projects
Our team presents capacious experience in the advisory and completion of forestry projects covering native and planted forests in all of the phases of the projects such as planning, implementation, direction, harvest, forest control (registration, inventory, environmental licensing and mapping) and management plans. We also act upon the direction given to the use of wood and other forest products in the most efficient manner. Our professionals are also qualified for the development of scientific research related to the topic. Evaluation and sizing of carbon stock in native and/or planted forests as well as inventories of emissions produced in their implementation and management.
